InspectionXpert enables users to automate the often error-prone process of manually ballooning 2D drawings and 3D CAD models and the creation of quality inspection forms.

The Measurements Module enables users to enter their actual measurements against the expected values that InspectionXpert extracts from their drawing. Dimensions are shaded in red or green—both on the drawing and in the measurements table—to show if they are in or out of tolerance. The CMM Import Module enables users to import measurement values from CMM reports and reconcile them with the expected values from the drawing to create a complete inspection report.

APEX, NC – August 1, 2011 – Extensible CAD Technologies, a leading developer of engineering- related software, today announced the sale of its Office2PDM and EPDM Dashboard products to Razorleaf Corporation of Stow, OH. EPDM Dashboard provides real-time access to Enterprise PDM vaults, right from Microsoft Outlook, for monitoring the status of documents and workflows.

“We’re thrilled to be adding Office2PDM and EPDM Dashboard to our portfolio of tools for EPDM – it complements our ongoing goal of extending PDM and PLM tools to fill gaps and add value”, said Eric Doubell, president and owner of Razorleaf.“Office2PDM has been a great product from day one, and we’re excited to further extend its reach within the EPDM community.”

Razorleaf intends to further extend and enhance Office2PDM and EPDM Dashboard, as the company continues to deliver on its promise of making PLM tools work better for its clients. Our relationships with the people at Razorleaf go back a long time, and the product is in great hands.”

Office2PDM and EPDM Dashboard are available immediately for download from Razorleaf’s website and for purchase from authorized resellers. Office2PDM and EPDM Dashboard are compatible with the following software versions:

Extensible CAD Technologies Announces Two New Automated Inspection Tools: InspectionXpert for PDF and InspectionXpert OnDemand

Raleigh, NC – May 17, 2011 –Extensible CAD Technologies announces two new products in its InspectionXpert automated inspection software family: InspectionXpert for PDF and InspectionXpert OnDemand. Both products are completely redesigned versions of the company’s flagship automated inspection software, and offer users a variety of new features and a sleek new interface for easier navigation and better workflow. InspectionXpert software saves companies significant time and money by automating the error-prone manual process of ballooning 2D drawings and creating quality inspection forms.

The new products offer the same functionality with two different delivery methods. InspectionXpert for PDF provides a new streamlined installation process that greatly reduces the need for IT support. Its license-based installation process provides users with always-on access, ideal for quality departments with limited or no access to the Internet.

InspectionXpert OnDemand’s easy access requires absolutely no installation, completely eliminating the need for IT support. Users simply click on a web link to instantly launch the software and always have access to the latest version each time they log on.

InspectionXpert for PDF and InspectionXpert OnDemand do not require CAD software so companies that don’t use CAD to create or modify inspection drawings can still use these products to automate their quality inspection drawings. The new release works with PDF/TIFF files created from any source, including scanned drawings.

“We are excited about these new products because of the improvement in the user experience,” says Jeff Cope, president of Extensible CAD Technologies. “Everything from access and deployment to workflow and customization is greatly improved. In addition, the software’s new Publish to Net Inspect feature will provide an end-to-end solution for companies who use Net-Inspect quality management software.”

Other significant new enhancements include:

Increased accuracy. User can now choose between an option for searchable text recognition or the powerful optical character recognition (OCR) that is already available, greatly improving the overall quality and accuracy of extracted data.

Easier navigation. Tightly integrated navigation tools enable users to click on a balloon in their drawing to view and edit the data for that item. Clicking on a row in their characteristic table now highlights the balloon on their drawing.

Better quality. Image capture quality has been greatly improved, even at low zoom factor levels, which provides improved OCR accuracy.

Redesigned interface. The software’s new ribbon user interface makes performing common tasks faster and easier.

Multiple-drawing support. Users can now work with multiple drawings in a single project, in addition to multi-page drawings already supported.

File Management. Simplified file management ensures that all of your inspection project data is stored in a single project file.

Project migration. Project files created with the company’s InspectionXpert First Article can be easily migrated to InspectionXpert for PDF or InspectionXpert OnDemand.

Extensible CAD Technologies Announces Release of InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER

Raleigh, NC – March 1, 2011 – Extensible CAD Technologies today announced their new release of InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER. InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER is an inspection report automation and ballooning tool that extracts inspection characteristics from Pro/ENGINEER drawings and instantly exports them to inspection report forms. The new release features a completely redesigned interface and the ability to save inspection project data for later reuse or revision. Here are a few of the key improvements:

InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER

Retooled InspectionXpert interface for better ease-of-use and project workflow

Inspection project data and settings can now be saved for easy reuse or revision

Better control over the order and placement of inspection balloons

Automate mapping of custom attributes and project properties to inspection report forms

Refresh Project option to automatically identify and capture drawing changes

InspectionXpert for Pro/ENGINEER saves up to 97% of the time it takes to create a bubbled Pro/ENGINEER drawing and inspection report form, and because inspection project data can be saved, it’s incredibly fast and easy to handle drawing revisions. “We continue to expand the capabilities of our CAD-integrated versions of InspectionXpert to meet our clients’ needs, both in functionality and ease of use,” explains President Jeff Cope. ”We’ve also added direct integration with Net-Inspect, and are providing ways to integrate with other quality systems such as CEBOS MQ1 that are helping our clients streamline their quality processes from end to end.”

The InspectionXpert product line eliminates the manual ballooning of inspection drawings and manual creation of inspection sheets for first article and in process inspections. InspectionXpert integrates with popular CAD programs including Solid Edge, CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks, and InspectionXpert First Article works with PDF and TIFF file formats. Visit http://www.inspectionxpert.com for more information.
